After three days of budget planning, two days of budget deliberations and one public open house, Wetaskiwin Council approved the final 2019 budget at a special Council meeting held Thursday, March 28. The total operating budget—valued at $39.3 million—involves a 3 percent tax increase for 2019.
Budget highlights include:
• The 2019 municipal capital budget total is $6,985,535.
• The 2019 utility capital budget total is $5,545,852.
• Revenue from taxation totals $16,226,853, accounting for 47% of the municipality’s total revenue.
