|Cats & Dogs||Enforcement Services personnel investigate and enforce violations of the Animal Control Bylaw, as well as the Animal Protection Act (PDF), and Dangerous Dogs Act (PDF). Please call 780.361.4401 if you have an animal control concern.|
Enforcement Services does not capture stray and at-large cats, but they do lend humane traps to residents between April 1 and October 31 (weather dependent). The resident is responsible for trapping and delivering the animal to the Wetaskiwin Animal Shelter.
|Insects (including wasps, hornets, bee’s nests)||Insects present in/on private property are the responsibility of the owner. Call a pest control company to remove them from your property.|
Insects present in City parks, trails or trees are the responsibility of the Parks department. Please call 780.361.4436 to report any issues.
|Rodents||Rodents present in/on private property are the responsibility of the owner. Call a pest control company to remove them from your property.|
Sightings of rats in the City should be immediately reported to our CPOs at 780.361.4401 as they are considered a threat to human health and well-being.
All wild animals are unpredictable. For your safety and the animal’s well-being, maintain a safe distance between yourself and any animal encountered. Do not provoke animals, and please don’t feed wildlife.

|Skunks & Raccoons||Skunks and raccoons present in/on private property are the responsibility of the owner. Skunk traps are available to rent for a small fee at the County of Wetaskiwin Office. Phone 780.352.3321 for more information.|
Don’t want to risk getting sprayed? Call The County Trapper at 780.910.5333 if you wish to hire him to remove skunks/raccoons from your property.
|Injured Wildlife||Please report injured wildlife to Alberta Fish and Wildlife.|
