DIGITAL ECONOMY PROGRAM - APPLY TODAY!

When over 95% of businesses in Alberta are small businesses, supporting them in a competitive world is critical. That’s why The City of Wetaskiwin has joined the Digital Economy Program, with the University of Alberta , Wetaskiwin Chamber of Commerce, Business Link and Digital Main Street as a strategic partners, to offer you and your business an opportunity to transform your online presence for FREE.

This free program is open to small businesses with less than 50 employees who would like to undergo a digital transformation.  Perhaps your company needs help with ecommerce, or expanding your web presence or even developing a social media strategy.  The Digital Economy Program will equip you with the skills you need to expand your business’s digital reach.

Small businesses complete an application form, and are then paired up with a Digital Economy Program Service Squad who will look at a needs assessment and put together a work plan. The squad team will work directly with small businesses to develop digital technologies ranging from eCommerce websites to social media and more.

To be eligible:

  • Your business needs to be registered in Alberta
  • Your business has 49 employees or less

Here are some of the services you may be able to receive:

  • Social Media  - branding strategy, content creation, social media account set-up
  • Ads & Analytics  - keyword search, creating Google/Facebook ad campaigns, analytics analysis 
  • Website & SEO - existing website audit and user experience, on page SEO, competitor audits

Ready to start your transformation? The Digital Economy Program launches January 12th, 2002 and applications are on a first-come first-serve basis.  The City of Wetaskiwin is pleased to offer this program to you and other small businesses free of charge.
