City Transportation
Wetaskiwin’s strategic location was the basis for the decision of Home Hardware to establish their Western Canada Distribution Centre in our community.

Out city is served by the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) multi-lane restricted access highway, running from Edmonton to Calgary, which is situated a few kilometres west of our boundary. Additional major highways include 2A running north/south and 13 running east/west, which provide efficient access to the major highway transportation routes of western Canada.

Wetaskiwin operates a regional airport, consisting of a modern terminal building and a 3,800 foot runway. The Edmonton International Airport is located 50 kilometres (30 miles) to the northeast.

CP Rail provides rail service for industrial users. Wetaskiwin is located on the north/south main line and is also a connection point for a major line which serves eastern Alberta.
