Wetaskiwin Protective Services
Protective Services encompasses the Fire Department, Community Peace Officers, Emergency Management, and Safety services in tandem with the RCMP and Guardian Ambulance. We respond to both emergent and non-emergent requests for service from the residents of the City as well as from residents of the county.

Our staff is highly trained and motivated, always ready to respond to requests for service. In addition to emergency responses we provide public education, inspections, safety training, information requests, investigations, and preplanning for emergencies and disasters and so much more. We maintain a high level of preparedness and are here to provide a sense of safety within your community.

Did you know?
Smoke alarms are a key part of a home fire escape plan. When there is a fire, smoke spreads fast. Working smoke alarms give you early warning so you can get outside quickly. Smoke alarms should be installed inside every bedroom, outside each sleeping area and on every level. Smoke alarms should be connected so when one sounds, they all sound.

Get Involved - Positive Ticket Program
Our Community Peace Officers are on the lookout for youth in Wetaskiwin exemplifying positive behaviour and actions (such as wearing a helmet while riding a bike, putting garbage in its place, staying active, lending a hand, and so much more). When one of our Peace Officers spot you doing a positive deed you will be thanked with a positive ticket and a small reward for your effort.
