Twice today at the main street railway crossing I got stuck by a train. As I was sitting comfortably in my car, I noticed an elderly lady standing waiting for the train that was stopped (almost 15 minutes). There were people standing on both sides of the train, and both sides if the street.
Wetaskiwin has invested a huge amount to rejuvenate main street, and has installed a bunch of benches down main, and yet there are no benches where people have to wait for the trains. Can we not at least move some of the unused benches on main street (and lets face it, none of them get used often) and out them near the railway crossing, where I'm certain they would benefit far more people throughout the day?
This thought was posted on Facebook yesterday, and it appears that many Wetaskiwin residents agree.

Why do we have so many unsightly yards in our city?
Weeds growing two to three feet high, grass never gets mowed, garbage laying in the yards and alleys and very unkept houses!
