Held annually on June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the cultural diversity of Canada's First Nations people. The following events are taking place in Wetaskiwin and area in honour of this important occasion:
- June 19 | 1 pm - 3 pm | Wetaskiwin Memorial Arts Centre (dancing, drumming, bannock, etc.)
- June 21 | Celebratory events in Maskwacis (the City is providing free busing from Wetaskiwin to Maskwacis--and back--to anyone wishing to attend the celebration there).

11:30 am
| Bus leaves Wetaskiwin for Ermineskin Powwow Grounds (first bus run of the day)
