[ARCHIVED] Statement from the mayor's office

20230427 Graphic - Mental Health Week newsflash

Mayor Tyler Gandam has issued a statement on the occasion of Mental Health Week, May 1–7.

Each of us has our own struggles — hopefully, we also have healthy coping mechanisms to help us work through those tough days.

Post-pandemic, the change in people and their engagement is palpable, both positively and negatively. It is very difficult to navigate and, I think, we are all still trying to find ways to move forward.

If you are feeling overwhelmed and not sure what to do, please reach out for support. It’s OK to not be OK! If you’re comfortable, share your story and personal journey; it might be the reason someone else reaches out for help.

The Canadian Mental Health Association is a great resource and promotes mental health and supports people recovering from mental illness. #mystory #mentalhealthweek
